FES Ltd TO THE FORE AGAIN    11th July 2008

The longest running sponsorship deal in Scottish Football was extended by another year when it ws announced by FES Ltd this week that they are delighted to continue to back Cambusbarron Rovers once again. This makes it an incredible 32 years of continued backing in what is very unique sponsorship deal.

The Rovers have taken the field for every game since the Summer of 1977 with the FES logo on their shirts and they will benefit similarly once again, and more this season.

Rovers Vice Chairman Gary Brown said " Gary Grahamslaw and I were invited up to Forth House, and met with Dylan Fletcher. Dylan continued to express his committment to the Rovers and we are delighted to yet again benefit from their generosity. What they get out of the deal is minimal but that shows the kind of people we are associated with in that they keep backing the Rovers year after year. Going as far back as my dad's time as chairman when this deal was first put in place he used to say we could never thank FES enough for what they contribute and that is still the case today. Dylan has been instrumental in keeping this going and we thank him for that but we would also like to thank all Fletcher family for their continued backing.

Dylan Fletcher said " As always we will continue to support Cambusbarron  Rovers and we are happy to do so.The guys seem positive and hopefully they can go on a bit and get the team competing at the business end of the season. I would like to wish the new coaching staff and the players, as well as the committee all the best for the new season. I think they will do well and if what we do for them helps that then we are delighted.

Pre-Season Friendlies Announced
The Rovers pre-season programme has been announced and some interesting friendlies have been arranged.
All pre-season games are at home starting with CLARK DRIVE from Ayrshire on Sat 19th July at the park with a 2.30pm ko. This is followed with SAUCHIE JUNIORS visiting on Sat 26th July. On Sat 2nd Aug KILSYTH AMATEURS come to Cambusbarron and the final friendly is on Sat 9th Aug when our good friends GALSTON UNITED from Ayrshire will play the Rovers in a one off game for the Cambusbarron Trophy. We had organised the tournament and had asked Drumchapel Ams now Central Scottish League and Kinross from the Kingdom League (Fife) but both had to call off as their  respective leagues kick off on the 9th.
These games are all against good quality opposition and should test this years squad prior to the start of the new season.

CALEDONIAN LEAGUE RE-ORGANISATION
At the Caledonian League AGM in June the decision was made to return to two divisions the Premier Division and the 1st Division. The Rovers will compete in the 1st Division next season with all the teams from last years 2nd and Milngavie Wands, Glasgow Uni, Hamilton, StMungos, Newton Mearns and Bearsden.

NEW COACHING TEAM IN PLACE    12th January 2008

Former Milton Defender RAYMOND MASTERSON has been confirmed as the new man at the helm of Cambusbarron Rovers.

Raymond was announced as the man for the job by Chairman Iain Campbell, who said of the former Milton player and Coach: “We are delighted to welcome Raymond to the Rovers, a man who enjoyed playing for Milton for a long spell and then was equally highly regarded as a coach with their successful Stirling District team. A long time ago the Rovers tried to sign him as a player, we were not successful then but we are delighted he is here now. His proven ability as a coach, a person and a leader and someone who has the talent to develop players, attracted him to us and we hope he can take Cambusbarron Rovers forward”

RAYMOND MASTERSON started his coaching at
Milton where he was a major part in their successes with their Stirling team of the last few years, but states he was only one of a number of good people who contributed to these successes. Indeed he has brought BRIAN GRANT and JEFF SPEED to assist him at  the Barron in an effort to re-create the same team spirit, will to win and enthusiasm to play football.  Raymond stated “I am delighted to be at Mill Road Park, this place holds so many great memories for many people and we will be trying to bring a few more. We will try and make Cambusbarron Rovers a good team to watch but we also want to get a winning mentality back and we want everybody associated with the club to enjoy being a part of it”

“Brian, Jeff and I are very pleased to be given an opportunity, this is a great challenge for us. I would also like to thank
Milton for the good years there, where we gained invaluable experience. It is however absolutely great for us to be here and we can’t wait for the first league game, and hopefully the players will feel the same.”

The Rovers new boss was clear what his immediate priority was: “First and foremost my intention is to get to know the players here. We have basically a young local squad, and we want to develop them; and by doing that, the team will benefit and will see better results. We obviously will try and bring in a few players who we know and have worked with before and then the club can go forward. It’s a big challenge, a great opportunity to work at a club who I have such enormous respect for.”
